Over the course of 2025, the Acquired Knowledge team told stories of successful acquisitions, operational excellence, and leadership from across Volaris Group. As we close out the year, we’re taking a look back at some of our most popular articles, videos, and social media posts.
Acquisition Updates
Our most read stories of the year were the 2024 year-end acquisition summary and the 2025 mid-year acquisition update, where we profile newly acquired companies and discuss any new geographies or vertical markets that we’ve entered during that period. We release these twice a year, so stay tuned for the full 2025 acquisition wrap up in early January 2026!
Life at Volaris
This year’s most-liked LinkedIn post showcased our inaugural Volaris Group M&A Summit in Miami, where we gathered teams from all over the world to network, share best practices, and learn from the most senior leaders across the organization. Combining insights from 30 years of software company acquisitions with analysis of emerging trends sent everyone home with fresh perspectives and new connections.
Our recap video of the Ulsted portfolio’s Women in Leadership Summit drew the most comments on LinkedIn. The two-day event’s unique structure — beginning with discussions between only women leaders during the first day and bringing in their male colleagues for the second day — encouraged honest reflection and actionable insights to strengthen both the health of our teams and the performance of their businesses.
Running a Business
The year’s most popular social media post was a slideshow based on our Grow Like a Camel, Not a Unicorn story, which touts the value in growing a business slowly and consistently over time.
Our most reshared post of the year was an interview featuring Volaris Group COO and CFO Brain Beattie, who discussed the business case for providing growth opportunities for top employees after their companies are acquired.
Rising to the Challenges of Leadership, our most read Q&A, explores the career path of Metafile General Manager John Arnott, who found mentorship within our community of software business leaders while continuing the growth of a company that was founded in 1979.
Selling a Business
Our most popular video, 10 Years at Volaris: Kinetic, provides a look at how Kinetic founder Chris Wildsmith mentored Rob Turner on a career path that took him from an entry-level intern role to the CEO’s chair after the company was acquired. Turner has since continued in his mentor’s footsteps, building out a succession plan that paved the way for Luke Warren to take over as Kinetic CEO when Turner moved into an M&A role with Volaris.
The Moments That Made Mark Miller was our surprise viral hit of the year. The in-depth profile of Volaris Group’s former CEO and current Executive Chairman explores Miller’s career path, from his early days as a developer and start-up founder to his decades spent acquiring software companies after his company, Trapeze, became the first business acquired by Volaris parent company Constellation Software in 1995. The story received a spike in popularity after Miller was named the new president of Constellation Software in September.
And as always, our most downloaded piece of content this year was The Ultimate Guide to Selling Your Software Company, a comprehensive look at what it takes to prepare for one of the biggest decisions a business owner will ever make.
