30 Years of Reaching Higher with Volaris Group

Dilys Chan

As Volaris Group celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025, we have published a series of articles that examine the individuals, businesses, and milestones that have contributed to the development and growth of our ecosystem of software businesses into what it is today.

During our 30 years of acquiring vertical market software businesses, Volaris has built a robust ecosystem for our leaders that helps them reach higher and accomplish more than they would as independent businesses. Here are some profiles we’ve highlighted over this year about those three decades.

30 Years at Volaris: Being Part of Trapeze Group’s Ascent

Looking back at the early days of our company, this article profiles three long-tenured Trapeze Group employees who have witnessed Volaris Group’s evolution since its founding, beginning with Constellation Software’s acquisition of Trapeze in 1995. They’ve maintained their entrepreneurial attitudes and built rewarding long-term careers while seeing the company grow through ongoing investment.

25 Years at Volaris; Rick Bacchus

Rick Bacchus has become one of the most senior leaders at Volaris in his time at the company. He believes that every leader should maintain a mindset of ownership and personal accountability. As a Portfolio Leader, he sees Volaris Group continuing to expand through new acquisitions and organic growth at companies that have already been acquired. “I don’t ever feel like we’re done,” he says.

17 Years at Volaris: AssetWorks Leaders Step Up

Since being acquired as a corporate carveout in 2008, AssetWorks has flourished under the Volaris Group’s long-term investment model. Volaris’s decentralized management approach saved the business from potential stagnation, providing the steady guidance and resources needed to sustain growth for nearly two decades. Central to this success has been a culture of mentorship and internal promotion, where many employees have risen to senior leadership roles.

16 Years at Volaris: Learning Programs

This article outlines the evolution of professional development programs at Volaris Group, beginning with the first Trapeze Academy in 2009. Since then, the programs have expanded from in-person workshops to a comprehensive offering of online resources, portfolio events, AI Summit, and our flagship employee-only leadership conference, Quadrants.

10 Years at Volaris: Kinetic
Kinetic Software, a provider of student accommodation and conference management software, celebrated its tenth anniversary as part of Volaris Group in 2025. Since the 2015 acquisition, the company has thrived through a series of successful leadership successions and strategic tuck-in acquisitions. Beyond expanding Kinetic’s global footprint and product offerings, the acquisition gave the founder, Chris Wildsmith, a new career path, and his successors a chance to broaden their skills and grow within Volaris.

5 Years at Volaris: SPARK TSL’s Transitions

In the five years since joining Volaris Group, SPARK TSL (formerly WiFi SPARK) has strengthened its leading position in the UK healthcare patient engagement sector through strategic acquisitions of competitors like Hospedia and Sentean Group. Founder Matt O’Donovan achieved a personal milestone after moving into a corporate M&A role at Volaris after selecting his successor, Jane Stephenson, to lead the company’s next phase of growth and transformation.
