What Diversity Means to Me: Centurisk GM

Dilys Chan

Authentic leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about having the tools in place for teams to have difficult conversations. That’s how Chris Gutierrez, General Manager at Volaris-owned company Centurisk sees it.

For him, diversity conversations start with knowing how to set boundaries and aspirations for a team about where they want to go. From there, it’s important who’s in the room. Different geographies, cultures, experiences, and genders don’t just diversify a leadership table; they also diversify the thinking that happens around it.

The payoff, as he sees it, is twofold: a wider range of ideas shaping where the organization goes next, and a deeper ability to connect with customers and partners on their own terms.
