For more than three decades, Accent Technologies has helped large enterprise organizations manage the complexity of sales execution in highly regulated and compliance-driven industries. Its platform enables teams to create, manage, distribute, and govern sales content and knowledge across large-revenue organizations, while maintaining strict controls over access, versioning, auditability, and policy adherence.

When Accent Technologies joined Volaris Group in May 2026, the transaction represented more than a change in ownership. For the leadership team, it was an opportunity to gain access to the resources, structure, and network needed to support the next stage of growth while preserving the company’s identity, protecting its people, and maintaining continuity for customers.

Building a Business with Deep Customer Understanding

John Fakatselis, Chief Operating Officer of Accent Technologies and incoming CEO, joined the company more than 20 years ago after first experiencing the business from the customer side.

Before joining Accent Technologies, John worked with a defence contractor in the Melbourne, Florida. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of the needs, pressures, and expectations of enterprise customers operating in complex environments.

Peter McChrystal, the founder and CEO of Accent Technologies, saw how John’s background could complement his own strengths and invited him to join the business as Chief Operating Officer.

“I was a good complement to Pete’s talents,” said John. “We made a good team, and the fact that we have worked together for more than 20 years is evidence of that synergy.”

Over time, Accent Technologies evolved from a services-led organization into a scalable software platform focused on enterprise-grade controls, governed content management, and compliant sales execution.

The business remained highly disciplined in managing costs and serving customers, but as the market continued to evolve, the leadership team recognized that the next phase of growth would require deeper resources, stronger operating frameworks, and access to a broader network of software leaders.

The Decision to Explore a Sale

In 2018, institutional investors joined Accent Technologies, bringing additional structure, governance, and financial discipline to the business. The company gained experience with board reporting, audits, and more formal operating practices, all of which helped strengthen the organization.

However, the business was still operating independently in a competitive enterprise software market. While Accent Technologies had strong technology, committed customers, and an experienced team, it did not have the same resources or scale as larger market competitors.

When the time came to explore a transaction, the motivation was shaped largely by the investment objectives of Accent’s institutional investors. The leadership team still believed strongly in the business and its potential, but the process created an opportunity to evaluate what kind of buyer could provide the right long-term home.

The team spoke with several interested acquirers, each bringing a different vision for the company. Some were primarily interested in Accent Technologies’ customer base and revenue. Others wanted portions of the technology. A few intended to merge the business into another entity they already owned. Some were not significantly larger than Accent, which raised concerns that the company could find itself in a similar position, operating with limited resources and a need to rebuild momentum.

Volaris Group stood out for a different reason.

Why Volaris: Respect for the Business, the Technology, and the Team

For John and the leadership team, the most important consideration was finding a buyer that respected what Accent Technologies had already built.

The company had great pride in its technology, its market position, its customer relationships, and its people. Any successful transaction needed to protect those strengths rather than dismantle them.

Volaris’ buy-and-hold model immediately resonated. Unlike acquirers focused on combining, restructuring, or reselling companies, Volaris offered a permanent home where Accent Technologies could continue operating under its own brand, with its existing customer relationships, employee base, and leadership team intact.

“Volaris respected our technology, respected our market, respected where we had been, and respected our people,” said John. “It gave us another opportunity, with more resources, to grow this company in better ways than we ever thought possible as a fully independent business.”

That combination of autonomy and support became a major differentiator. Accent Technologies would continue to be Accent Technologies, but with access to a larger organization, experienced operators, and proven best practices. For many members of the Accent Technologies team, joining Volaris opened exposure to growth opportunities and development pathways that would have been difficult to create inside a smaller independent company.

For John, the distinction between Volaris and other potential buyers was significant.

“The independence, the respect, and the value placed on our team were the big differences,” he said. “Other buyers offered parts of that, but nobody came close to the full picture we saw with Volaris.”

A Professional and Transparent Acquisition Process

Accent Technologies had experienced diligence before, including an unsolicited acquisition opportunity several years earlier. That gave John a point of comparison when evaluating the Volaris process.

He described the Volaris team as professional, transparent, organized, and highly responsive. The diligence process moved quickly and was structured in a way that allowed both sides to remain aligned.

The Accent Technologies team had regular meetings with Volaris’ M&A, legal, operational, and functional experts. Questions were clear, expectations were well-communicated, and the process remained focused.

“I found the process amazing,” said John. “The team was very professional, very open, and very transparent. Everything moved quickly, but it was organized and made sense.”

Like many companies entering a sale process, the Accent Technologies team initially wondered whether the promises being made were too good to be true. Volaris emphasized that it would keep the business intact, preserve the team, support the brand, and provide resources to help the company grow.

After closing, John said the experience matched those expectations.

“We did not have any surprises once we became part of Volaris,” he said. “Everything was as we expected, and from my perspective, in many areas, better.”

Early Integration: Business Continuity with New Support

For employees, the acquisition initially brought natural uncertainty. Team members wanted to understand what would change, whether their roles were secure, and what it would mean to become part of a much larger organization.

Those concerns began to ease once the team experienced the Volaris model firsthand. For most of the organization, the transition has felt like business as usual, with added access to expertise and support. The leadership team has been introduced to functional leaders across HR, finance, operations, and other areas, giving each department clear points of contact for guidance and best practices.

Employees saw that Accent Technologies would keep its identity and continue operating as itself. They also began to experience new development opportunities, including training, peer learning, and potential career paths that did not previously exist inside a smaller company.

“Before, we were a smaller company, so there was a ceiling,” said John. “Now people recognize that there is opportunity, and there is no limit.”

One moment in particular stood out to him. After attending a Volaris training program, one of Accent Technologies’ technical leaders approached John and thanked him for helping bring the company into Volaris. For John, that reaction was meaningful because it came from someone who was not easily impressed.

“That was a great testimonial,” he said. “It showed that even the people who were most skeptical could see the value.”

Customer Continuity and Confidence

For Accent Technologies’ customers, the most important question following the acquisition was simple: what would change?

Enterprise customers rely on Accent Technologies for governed, compliant sales execution. They need confidence that the people, platform, support model, and roadmap they depend on will remain stable.

Once customers understood the Volaris philosophy, the response was positive.

Assured that the company would continue to operate with its existing leadership and team in place, customers could continue working with the same people while gaining the added benefit of knowing the business now had access to greater resources and long-term ownership.

“The concern from customers was whether we would still be around and whether they would have to deal with different entities,” said John. “Once they understood the model, there was no negative feedback.”

That continuity is especially important in regulated and compliance-intensive industries, where trust, reliability, and institutional knowledge are central to customer relationships.

For Accent Technologies, joining Volaris reinforced that stability rather than disrupting it.

Leveraging the Volaris Network

One of the most meaningful early benefits of joining Volaris has been access to a broader community of software leaders facing similar challenges.

John wondered if being part of a large organization might make Accent Technologies feel like a small business inside a much larger structure. Instead, he found that many Volaris businesses are similar in size, stage, and operating complexity. That made the network immediately relevant.

“I am not necessarily a small fish in a big pond,” said John. “The majority of the businesses are around our size. They have the same pressures, the same pains, and the same opportunities that we have.”

The operating structure also impressed him. Despite the size and scale of Volaris and Constellation Software, John saw strong alignment across philosophy, metrics, coaching, priorities, and focus.

The company’s group leader has played an important role in helping Accent Technologies understand and apply the Volaris operating model, serving as a key connection point into the broader Volaris ecosystem to help the Accent Technologies team access the right resources, understand best practices, and adopt new processes in a way that feels practical rather than imposed.

“The structure is effective,” said John. “The support has been professional, responsive, and aligned.”

Quadrants: Turning Shared Learning into Action

Shortly after joining Volaris, members of the Accent Technologies leadership team attended Quadrants, Volaris’ global leadership conference.

The event provided an early introduction to the broader Volaris community and operating philosophy. For John, it was valuable not only because of the sessions themselves, but because of the consistency between what was communicated at the event and what the company experienced afterward.

Quadrants was interactive, practical, and focused on real business challenges. It allowed the Accent Technologies team to meet peers, exchange ideas, and understand how other software companies inside Volaris approach growth, operations, and accountability.

“What I enjoyed most was the continuity,” said John. “You learn something, and then after the event, there is a series of activities, guidance, and planning that helps you put that knowledge into practice.”

Rather than returning home with ideas that fade over time, Accent Technologies saw the same principles reinforced through planning, coaching, and operating cadence.

For John, that alignment has helped create confidence inside the leadership team. The business now has a clearer recipe for growth, supported by proven frameworks and people who have implemented them across many software companies.

Building Confidence for the Next Stage of Growth

Because the acquisition is still recent, Accent Technologies is in the early stages of translating Volaris’ support into measurable growth outcomes.

However, the leadership team is already seeing a change in focus and confidence.

Before joining Volaris, Accent Technologies was disciplined in managing costs but was not growing as quickly as the market, investors, or leadership team expected. Post-acquisition, the company has begun applying more structured planning, clearer execution frameworks, and a stronger organizational focus.

John believes those changes are helping the team see a more achievable path forward.

“The planning, the organizational structure, and the focus have been impressive,” he said. “It has brought confidence to the leadership team that we finally have a good recipe for success.”

Employees are also beginning to understand how their work connects to broader goals and how the resources available through Volaris can support both the business and their own professional development. Looking ahead, John’s priority is simple: meet the company’s goals and give the team an opportunity to see their efforts translate into results.

“Everybody is excited, everybody feels confident, and everybody wants to give it a try,” he said. “I want everyone to feel that their efforts brought the results.”

Advice to Other Software Leaders Considering Volaris

For other software leaders considering a sale, John’s message is clear: Volaris offers a different model from many traditional acquirers.

It is not designed to absorb a company, strip away its identity, or treat the transaction as a short-term financial exercise. Instead, Volaris provides a permanent home where a business can continue operating with its existing strengths while gaining access to more resources, more structure, and a broader peer network.

“It is an unbelievable model in a good way,” said John. “It helps you continue the growth of your company with more resources than you ever had.”

He also emphasized that selling to Volaris does not mean losing the company a leadership team has worked hard to build.

“It does not take your baby and send it for adoption,” he said. “You still have it. You can grow it and do more things than you ever imagined.”

For Accent Technologies, that distinction mattered. The company wanted a buyer that recognized the value of its people, technology, market, and customer relationships. Volaris offered a path that protected those strengths while expanding what the business could become.

With experienced leadership, enterprise-grade technology, and a renewed operating framework, Accent Technologies is positioned to continue supporting customers that depend on governed, compliant sales execution while building the next chapter of its growth inside Volaris Group.
