Over the course of 2024, the Acquired Knowledge team told stories of successful acquisitions, operational excellence, and leadership from across Volaris Group. As we close out the year, we’re taking a look back at some of our most popular articles and videos.

Acquisition Updates

Our most read stories of the year were the 2023 year-end acquisition summary and the mid-year 2024 acquisition update, where we profile newly acquired companies and discuss any new geographies or vertical markets that we’ve entered during that period. We release these twice a year, so stay tuned for the full 2024 acquisition wrap up in early January 2025!

Life at Volaris

One of our Volaris in the News pieces was the most reshared story of the year. The article covered Newsweek naming Volaris parent company Constellation Software one of “the world’s most trustworthy companies.” The story also mentioned that Constellation President and Founder Mark Leonard was named to Maclean’s “Power 100” list earlier in the year.

Our most popular social media post showcased a volunteer event that Volaris sponsored for Weston Frontlines Centre, a community based not-for-profit focused on supporting youth with leadership skills, homework clubs and home-cooked meals to help them thrive.

Our day-one recap video of Quadrants 2024 drew the most comments on LinkedIn from employees attending the event and those curious to learn more about this year’s AI Innovation Challenge. Nearly 200 Volaris companies presented their AI-development ideas and competed for three major investment awards to bring them to life.

Running a Business

Why Humility Is So Powerful in Our Work, a reflection on the benefits of staying humble while building customer relationships and managing employees, was one of our most shared stories of the year.

In our highest performing emailed article, Finding Their Right Fit in the Software World, we explored the stories of three very different companies who were carved out from their original parent companies and found success as standalone businesses within Volaris.

Don’t Be Afraid to Try Different Roles, our most read Q&A, explores the career path of Group Manager Becky Kelderhouse-Stout, who went from product manager to director of operations to General Manager at Northpointe before taking on her current role at Volaris. Kelderhouse-Stout was also a featured speaker during the keynote at this year’s Quadrants.

Selling a Business

Why The Economist Considers Volaris Group Parent Company Constellation Software ‘Tech’s Berkshire Hathaway’, an in-depth look at the similarities and differences between the two software giants, was the year’s most popular feature.

Our most popular video, Chris Wildsmith’s Second Act, provides a look at how Chris treated the sale of his business as a career growth opportunity rather than opting for retirement, taking on a role at Volaris where he helps newly acquired businesses create their own success stories.

And as always, our most downloaded piece of content this year was The Ultimate Guide to Selling Your Software Company, a comprehensive look at what it takes to prepare for one of the biggest decisions a business owner will ever make. To download the guide, simply visit our homepage and follow the link near the top of the page.

We hope you found this year’s stories interesting and thought-provoking. Thanks for reading along with us! We look forward to bringing you more unique stories from around Volaris and beyond in 2025.
